With this post, I’m launching a new feature: “Ask the Doctor.” I welcome questions from family members, care providers, persons on the spectrum, and interested general readers, regarding any aspect of autism spectrum disorder. This is my way of finding out what’s on the public’s mind, and your chance to ask an expert whatever may be on your mind, on the subject of autism. Answers will appear as blog posts. I will not be able to answer every question individually or immediately due to volume and time constraints, but I will try to “batch” related questions, and hopefully you will get your answer eventually.
A few caveats:
1. This column is a place to ask general questions. It is not an alternative to seeking medical evaluation for your child. If you are concerned about your child and are considering having him/her evaluated by me, click the “Child Evaluations” button on the home page.
2. Be nice.
3. Stick to your topic. This column is your chance to ask questions, but it’s not intended as an open mike or a soapbox, from which to carry on a debate about this or that, disguised as a question for the doctor.
